Anya van Wagtendonk is the state Capitol reporter for Wisconsin Public Radio, where she covers the state Legislature, courts and elections. Her reporting can also be heard frequently on NPR’s “Morning Edition” and “All Things Considered,” the NPR Politics Podcast and Up First. Previously, she covered elections for Wisconsin Watch and has also worked as a national politics reporter, editor and producer for Vox and the PBS NewsHour.
She is a recipient of numerous awards including a Sigma Delta Chi Award from the Society of Professional Journalists for an investigation into the funding behind anti-vaccine protests, and the Aubespin Prize from ACES: The Society for Editing. Her freelance work has appeared in POLITICO Magazine, The Washington Post, Philadelphia Inquirer, Village Voice and elsewhere, and she holds a master’s degree from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY.
